John Denver, a singer-songwriter from Colorado who specialized in folk pop music has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and settled down in Aspen. Denver's famous anthems about Colorado have inspired many people to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated it was because John Denver is the only performer to embody Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first to be inducted into the hall. To many, Denver is the image of Colorado. When you encounter people from other nations, for instance New Zealanders, and they tell them "I am originally from Colorado" then they immediately reply by saying Oh John Denver. Brown explained. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short career performing in small folk-based bands comprised of Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff was credited with Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the song, but Denver discovered that it was destined to be a huge hit after the song was first heard by him. The track was released just two weeks following the Washington D.C. performance.
